Our Story

The society was formed in 1968 by David and Pam Howes. They were keen to form a choir that would unite the parishes of the Clyst Valley and persuaded local organist David Lyon-Smith to become the first conductor. Bernard Russell was appointed as the society's first organist.
Only five people attended the first rehearsal, but numbers soon grew and in the 1970s, the choir moved to its new home of Clyst St Mary Church, where it still rehearses today.
